A courtyard infill extension in central Oslo, founded on steel core piles to bedrock directly next to existing buildings.
−01The assignment
A new courtyard infill extension of 8 and partly 9 storeys, including a roof terrace, above an existing basement. The volume sits against the neighbouring building in Rosenkrantz’ gate, in an existing recess, leaving the courtyard access untouched.

Geotechnical advice and foundation design for Seltor AS.
−03Technical challenges
The extension is designed on end-bearing piles to bedrock (steel core piles), with foundations placed tight against neighbouring buildings in a dense city centre.
